Two Years a Community

Everyday people walk in to a box.
People who do different things.  People who want different things.
People with different jobs.  People with different goals.  People with different lives.
People with one goal.
Good people.

Our programming is based on years of learning and evolving and are a huge factor in determining the success of our strength and conditioning program.  The quality of coaching and demand of good movement create a level of expectation and a focus on safety and consistency.  But the quality of people at a gym is what determines its success and the fitness success of its members, and CrossFit Sixth City is fortunate to have high quality people in droves.

People who become friends, support one another, challenge one another, laugh at each others' jokes and laugh at them when they tell bad jokes.  People who hold one another accountable for not showing up, for eating like trash and make a big deal out of each person's accomplishments.

People who weren't competitive when they first walked in now can't wait to see their score on the board because of the support from their friends and the opportunity to accomplish new things.  People who understand that some days just suck (go slam a barbell!).

Everyday people walk in to a box.
People who are like-minded.  People all looking to better themselves.
People with a support system.
People with one goal.
Good people.

The Sweatiest Angel award is given each month to a CSC member who displays significant work ethic, a willingness to support others and a true sense of camaraderie inside the gym.  Not only is Liz always smiling and showing a positive attitude but she has also made some done some tremendous work lately - posting faster times in WODs, using heavier weight than she ever has and improving greatly at many skills. Just as she says, you get out of it what you put in, and Liz works her ass off. How long have you been doing CrossFit? I started doing CrossFit-like workouts four years ago and joined CSC in July of 2014. What do you do when you are not at CSC? When I am not at CSC I enjoy spending time outdoors with my posse or experimenting in the kitchen. When did you realize CrossFit was for you? When I realized the amount of physical and mental strength required. Everyd...
